Galloway cycling April 2015

Had a good few days in the sunshine, including a good 57km ride; nearly up to the distance for next month’s sportive.

Knockbrex shoreline. The Isle of Man is just visible on the horizon to the left of the island.

>The Lauriston climb (looking down). I don’t think it’s really 14%. It’s a good climb though!

At the top of the Lauriston climb from Gatehouse. Cairnsmore of fleet is the big hill in the background; the closer crags are on White Top of Culreoch.

In Creetown. The natives here take marbles seriously 😉

Kirroughtree visitor centre in Galloway Forest Park – here and back from Gatehouse was 57km!

The cycle path – properly surfaced – on the old railway bed between Creetown and Newton Stewart.
