BBC Horizon’s “Dancing in the Dark – the End of Physics?” was actually one of the few good science programmes from the BBC. Don’t know why they put “the End of Physics” in the title, maybe to make it sound more controversial, but to a physicist it was a pretty good description of what physics is about. The interviewer kept trying to imply that negative results mean we’ve been wasting our time – he clearly hadn’t got the point – but the physicists put the story across well. Good to see some familiar faces from my previous life on as well! David Mitchell was a good choice as narrator. (Sadly the programme link itself seems to have gone to the great internet in the sky now …)
