On our way up to Orkney and back we stayed over in Inverness, so we could meet friends and relatives. We stayed in a hotel near the canal out near Tomnahurich Hill; walking in to town to eat in the evening we found this sign on the opening bridge over the canal.
We enjoyed a very nice meal in town at Encore une Fois.
The following day we had a little walk around Inverness before meeting up with a friend for lunch. We visited Marwyn’s old secondary school which is now Inverness Creative Academy. The building is a great space for displaying art, and a great place for nostalgia for old pupils!
Close by is the Crown Church; we took the photo for a friend of Marwyn’s from Radolfzell in Germany, as a youth wind orchestra from there had given a concert in July.
Just beyond the church is the Crown Primary School, which several of Marwyn’s friends attended; she went to Aldourie School (now clearly solar powered!) out along the south side of Loch Ness.
A lovely visit to Inverness again.
