I took my bike on this trip, as the area looked pretty good for cycling, if a bit hilly. Well, it certainly was hilly, but I had quite a few nice little rides. This is a selection of photos from them.

One thing that’s great is the large number of bike paths, as well as quiet roads. It made for some very restful cycling.

The quiet roads can go through some lovely little villages.

Gliders almost more frequent than cars 🙂

The routes are well signposted too.

Off the cycle path on to quiet roads.

Another good cycle path

Various routes from the Ferienwohnung took me right round these windmills!

The longest ride (even that wasn’t very long) took me to the radio antenna mast in the distance in this view, taken from near the Ferienwohnung.

Getting a bit closer to the mast.

It’s a big one!

It’s also on the watershed between the Rhine and Danube.

There’s a viewpoint, with views over to the Alps, though it was a bit hazy on this day.

Here’s another place where I crossed the watershed.

I didn’t see a lot of other cyclists, and a large fraction of them are on e-bikes, but hey, whatever. I was taking a photo of the distant stork when this couple passed.
