We had a few things still to get in Lerwick, and before the trip back had a fairly quiet day. I woke even earlier than usual but still set off for Bain’s beach.

It was after sunrise – just! I really didn’t expect anyone else to be there.

In no time I was joined by another early swimmer!

Anita had brought her dog Ragnar who was not very keen on the water.

We had another wander around Lerwick, and a last look for stuff in the shops.

The Dim Riv, viewed from the peerie boat harbour wall, has definitely been refurbished.

There were a few of these book benches around.

Jamieson’s knitwear has a lovely display window. The Shetland rugby team has a very appropriate sweater! (It is printed, not knitted!)

What really amused me was the Shetland wool knitted bikini – I had to send this photo to all my women friends!

Naturally I ended up with a last evening swim before we went out for a meal with relatives.

On the way out we found Tommy the famous Lerwick cat.
