With the decision made it was time to get some bits needed to complete the initial drawings. I had decided to use 10 sympathetic strings, so needed a couple of sets of these nice tuner mechanisms.
These tuners will allow a nice clean line from the tuning peg to the nut – no friction by going over other parts of the headstock. They are a modern version of the old wooden pegs – though a bit heavier, I admit. The playing strings will have the traditional wooden pegs.
Many thanks to Kjell Lundvall for the suggestion to angle the headstock, to give a better angle for the strings onto the nut.
