After several years of enforced absence we have returned to the mainland of Europe! I have now added some more photos here.
We travel slowly in Europe. I love small towns with their lovely local hotels, with their wonderful local food.
I can’t resist getting into the water if possible. The weather wasn’t wonderful, but the sea in the Bay of Biscay was lovely.
Our aim was Carcassone where we were in a gite for a couple of weeks, having friends to visit. Nearby is the Canal du Midi.
The sea temperature in the Mediterranean is rather more than I am used to – it was about 24C at Leucate Plage. Lovely!
The light, and availability of time, almost always has me daubing in the south of France.
Our favourite place to stay the night before we get the ferry home is Noordwijk.
