Our third visit to Celtic Connections was to the final of the BBC Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, this year won by the singer Ellie Beaton.
As always it was really great; I reckoned that three of the finalists could easily have won it (my favourite was the accordionist Clelland Shand).
It’s a bit of hassle driving over to Glasgow, maybe we’ll try the train next year.
