We are managing to get along to a few Celtic Connections concerts in Glasgow, as we usually do at this time of year. The first was the Capstan Quartet and Llan de Cubel, who we really wanted to see. The Capstan Quartet was OK, but Llan de Cubel were really great! They are a band from Asturias (which we have really enjoyed visiting on more than one occasion) with a great fiddler, Simon Bradley (also in the Simon Bradley Trio).

I don’t really like to take photos during a performance (usually I forget anyway as I get sucked in to the music) so here’s the Band getting ready!
We also went to “In the Tradition” hosted by Anna Massie, which was a great evening, with lots of mainly young and new groups.

Erin Rae and Michael Biggins; we have watched both winning of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Trad musician of the year in previous years!

LÉDA – Irish harp and fiddle with Shetland piano (also previous Young Trad winner, Amy Laurenson).

Everyone on stage for the finale.
