One of the few sunny days we had on a visit to Gatehouse, so we headed off to Glentrool (in Galloway Foprest Park) where there are some walks we wanted to explore. We had done the shortest, “red” route last time, so this time went a bit further on the “blue” route. Even so, they take a time which is quite a bit shorter than suggested in the guide leaflet.
This walk finishes alongside first, the Water of Trool, then the Water of Minnoch. Very nice, I must explore them for a wee dip sometime when it’s a bit warmer!
This is the Water of Trool from a footbridge.
Marwyn on the footbridge. We had seen many Rowan berries (I know the tree as a “Wiggin tree”!) on the walk and found some lovely ones on the way back.
